History of the Festival

Wolverine, Michigan is located on the banks of the beautiful Sturgeon River.  This year we are celebrating our 30th Annual Lumberjack Festival and Wolverine’s 129th Birthday. The Lumberjack Festival button you purchase is good for entrance into the park all 3 days.  Most years, we hold a contest to determine what the logo will be, but the image on the 2010 button features our town's trademark, which was designed by a local resident, the late Edna Dodge, in honor of our town's centennial in 1981.  It depicts a team of oxen hauling a cart-load of timber.
Making our festival your families tradition!
The Lumberjack Festival is special in that it is run solely by volunteers.

To keep the festival alive, we are always in need of volunteers, so please help when and where you can. We hope you enjoy your visit with us, and remember the last weekend in June is the date for the Wolverine Lumberjack Festival.
