History of Wolverine |

Wolverine became an official town in 1881. There used to be many small settlements to Wolverine such as Tory, Trowbrige, Wildwood and Haxkwood. The Cheboygan County Fair used to be held in Wolverine. Mansions, a fishery, sheriff’s office, hospital, and a livestock auction barn were found in Wolverine. |

Wolverine used to have a Forth of July Fireman’s Festival then...in 1981 Wolverine celebrated it’s Centennial and community members such as Henry & Estelle Bednarz, Dennis & Luwan Vroman, Jackie & Randy Bolinger, Kathy Long, Sue Vandenhok, and Isabel Sevener, just to name a few, formed a committee to have a Celebration to honor the event and it was the 1 st Wolverine Lumberjack Festival |
